Google apparently has a Material Design UI overhaul in the works for YouTube and it looks pretty good,and this script enable the new UI for yourself.
Here's how you do it to turn on the YouTube hidden dark mode:
Click on your profile avatar in the main settings menu in the top right,and the dark mode toggle is available.
