Summarize webpage, selected text or YouTube transcript via local API
This userscript generates concise webpage summaries using a local GPT4Free instance (g4f), displayed in a sleek, collapsible sidebar. The backend AI is DeepSeek-R1. You can also summarize youtube videos (using transcripts).
The language detection is based on your browser settings.
mkdir g4f-api
cd g4f-api
python -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
pip install g4f\[all\]
python -m g4f.api.run
You can automate it at startup with the following run.sh script:
cd g4f-api
source .venv/bin/activate
pip install --upgrade g4f[all]
python -m g4f.api.run
and a cron setup:
@reboot /your/path/to/run.sh
