This was the only thing that worked to get rid of these pesky Google front page middle-slot promotions. I was going bonkers all day trying to get it off my customized Google page. I am not skilled with CSS, scripts etc, and no matter how much I tore the page apart in editors trying to block or hide elements, I couldn't do it.
