YouTube Fullscreen Fix — Disable “More Videos” Grid + Preserve Controls

Hide fullscreen “More Videos” grid & vignette; keep scroll-wheel volume. Prevent tick-4/7 jiggle without forcing visibility. V-key manual hide. Hide interactive overlay in fullscreen. Allow normal autohide in FS and windowed modes.

Thank you very much for making this, its much appreciated.

A problem I have is that when I scroll down more than 7 points of volume the fullscreen controls will be hidden until I scroll up 7 points again. I can resummon it with V but thats not ideal as I'm trying to do everything with the mouse.

I can understand why it happens, if its not fixable can you perhaps suggest a workaround?

Cheers

Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I've made sure to update the script and this bug is (mostly) patched out now. The only thing this bug now applies to is the video title (covered in patch notes, only hides/reappears when scrolling up/down 4 ticks) but it is much less intrusive than it was prior. It was happening to the fullscreen interactive buttons (like, dislike, comment, share, channel link) as well so I unfortunately had to remove those from the overlay. I could not figure out how to do the same to the video title, so I decided to leave it as it's thankfully not very distracting.

Hope you enjoy the new version!

I updated the script and closed browser down fully (even reinstalled the script) and I still get the same sort of bug, the difference now is I can mouse over where the timeline bar WAS before becoming invisible and I can see the video preview box and timecode, but not the bar itself or where the trackhead is.

Sorry If I didn't explain it well before, all I want to be able to see is the timeline, trackhead and video preview. The icons you mentioned don't matter to me so thats all cool.

Thanks for looking into this,
Ben

That's odd, I'm sorry you're still encountering problems. I was experiencing similar bugs in testing, but they appear patched out for me. I'll have to look further into this. What browser are you using, by chance?

Yesterday when I wrote that I was on the 2nd latest Firefox, but as of now I'm on the latest (Firefox 145, 64-bit), issue still remains, I tried pressing V a few times to see if that kickstarts it but nah I still lose the timeline when I scroll down 7 or more ticks I have to scroll up 7 or more to bring it back.

I'll try reinstalling the script just now and see what happens, since I haven't done that since I updated FF to 145.

Perhaps its because I'm using Firefox since the dev stopped updating that version last year, I'm guessing you've based your work on the latest version of "Enhancer for YouTube", if you can make it work with the older version I'd be grateful but I wouldn't bother you again after that if youtube added more annoyances since I should really migrate to another addon thats updated to work with the latest youtube + Firefox unfortunately there just doesn't seem to be something that does everything EforY does in one package that I can find so far.
